If you are fortunate to be spending the holidays in Whistler this year, there’s no shortage of activities to get you and your family into the holiday spirit. Mother Nature has also done her part by delivering heaps of fresh, powdery snow.

The Whistler Platinum team has assembled a list of the top holiday family, kid-friendly winter activities to help create an unforgettable winter vacation in Whistler.

Whistler Olympic Plaza is located in the heart of Whistler Village near the intersection of Lorimer Road and Blackcomb Way. Public skating is also available at Meadow Park Sports Centre.RatesFree admission! Coca Cola Tube ParkCoca Cola Tube ParkOpen December 10, 2016 – April 23, 2017Blackcomb Mountain’s tube park at the Base 2 Zone, features 100 feet of sliding fun. Enjoy 7 lanes of tubing, hot snacks/beverages, heated washrooms, a fire pit and sound system. Park is fully lit for night-time tubing. No skill or equipment required. Kids must be at least 3 yrs and min. height of 36″ (or 91cm tall) to tube. Kids between 36″ (91 cm) to 41″ (103 cm) tall must use the Mini-kids lane from the halfway point only.  Whistler Fire & Ice ShowFire & Ice ShowEnjoy a free show every Sunday from December 18, 2016 to late March 2017. Show start at 6:30 pm and are located at the Skiers Plaza (base of Whistler & Blackcomb Gondolas). Whistler’s top skiers and riders will spin and twist through a burning hoop. Dress warmly, grab a hot chocolate and prepare to be amazed! A free night of entertainment. ALL AGES.

 Whistler Holiday ExperienceWhistler Holiday Experience Saturday, December 17 – Friday, December 30 (closed December 25).Hours: 10 am to 6 pm.This indoor family fun zone provides entertainment for kids and parents during the holiday season. Kids can enjoy a mini putt course, table games, bouncy castles, crafts and video games. Parents can relax in the lounge area and enjoy a coffee or hot cocoa while the kids play. Christmas Eve Carol ServiceChristmas Eve Carol ServiceAt Westin Resort & Spa on Dec. 24 at 6:30 pmThe 33rd annual Christmas Eve Carol Service takes place at 6:30 PM at the Westin Resort & Spa. Hosted by the Whistler Children’s Chorus and Whistler Singers, this interdenominational celebration features traditional carols, choral music sung by the choirs and readings by community members telling the story of the birth of Christ. Come and enjoy the sense of community and ‘peace and goodwill toward all’ that this carol service creates. Entry is by donation. ALL AGES.
Whistler Presents New Years EveLocation: Various venues in Whistler Village | Time: 6:00 PM – MidnightPut on your NYE wristband and head to enjoy the celebrations in Whistler Village in a family-friendly, alcohol free environment. All venues are within walking distance with roving street characters, sparkling lights and entertainment along the way.The Whistler New Year’s Eve Celebration venues are recommended for ages 3-13, with a teen dance for ages 13-17. Venues will be open from 6 – 11 PM featuring arts, crafts, entertainment, a teen dance, music and exciting performances. Wristbands are $12.50 per person when purchased between December 1 – 2016 and $15.00 when purchased December 30 & 31, 2016.Starting at 11:30 PM in Skiers Plaza there will be a special edition Fire & Ice Show plus a dazzling fireworks display to ring in the New Year (wristbands not required).No need to drive! The Resort Municipality of Whistler is providing free public transit within Whistler from 6 PM December 31, 2016 to 4 AM on January 1, 2017.

Cross Country Skiing WhistlerIntroductory Multi-Sport Holiday CampA 3-day sports camp for 7-12 year olds (beginner oriented) runs Dec. 28-30 from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm at the Whistler Olympic Park. Luge sliding allows kids to slide through the final 4 corners on the Olympic track, reaching speeds of up to 70km/hr. Kids will receive coaching and supervision and medical patrol while at the venue.
ZipTrek - Fly Like an Eagle!ZipTrek – Fly Like an Eagle!Ziptrek Tours offers ziplining tours and panoramic views of Whistler & Blackcomb Mountains. You will cross treetop suspension bridges and sky high viewing platforms, that connect the ziplines in the old-growth rainforest. Tours start and end in Whistler Village. Ages 6yrs+
