Mountain bike enthusiasts everywhere have been gearing up for Whistler’s annual Crankworx Festival taking place August 7 – 16, 2015. Whether you and your family are seasoned athletes or spectators, Crankworx provides 10 days of action-packed events for everyone.
For the Speed Demon

Canadian Open XCThe 2015 Canada Cup is finishing its season in Whistler’s Lost Lake trails on August 14 at 1:15pm. Pre-registration is required. |
For the Professional Spectator
Giant Dual SlalomCrowd-pleasing match-style races pit two competitors against each other and the clock, in a side-by-side battle over a track of jumps, berms and drops challenging 4-Cross riders and expert downhillers. The competition takes place August 14 from 5:00-7:00pm at the Whistler Mountain Bike Park and the event will have a live webcast. | |
Official Whip-Off World Championships presented by SpankThis event on August 13, from 11:30am -1:30pm, showcases big whips and big attitudes as riders compete to win the admiration of the crowd, respect of their peers and ultimately to be crowned the champion of style. | |
Ultimate Pump Track Challenge presented by RockShoxOn Thursday August 13, from 7:00pm and 9:00pm, riders duel back-to-back, without making a single pedal stroke in a maze of berms, doubles and gaps in this ultimate stripped-down skill showcase that’s a true test of a rider’s horizontal momentum mettle. | |
Red Bull JoyrideThis invitational slopestyle showcase brings together the best of traditional slopestyle, dirt jump and North Shore-style mountain biking. The event takes place on August 15 from 4:00-6:00pm at the Whistler Mountain Bike Park and will have a live webcast put on by Red Bull. This gravity-fed, season-defining freeride mountain bike event is not to be missed. |
For Those Who Know Biking is an Art
Dirt Diaries
Bringing together the top up and coming mountain bikers and filmmakers, the Dirt Diaries film competition will showcase its top submissions at the Whistler Olympic Plaza on Tuesday August 11 from 8:00 – 10:00pm as teams compete for a top prize of $5,000.
Deep Summer Photo Challenge
Elite mountain bike photographers will present their view of the festival to the world at the Whistler Olympic Plaza on Wednesday August 12 from 8:30 – 10:00pm. This crowd-favourite event and slideshow will let you experience Whistler through 6 different lenses as they compete for a $5,000 prize.
For The Whole Family

Bike minded families will be challenged to search the village for clues at specific biking areas and Crankworx locations. You can begin the challenge any time, but must complete the hunt by 5pm. Scavenger hunt can be completed by foot or on bike and starts at The Westin Resort and Spa. |

Here are a few:B-Line Race: On August 10, from 10:00am to 3:00pm, kids age 7 – 15 can put their bike cross technique and speed to the testXC Race: On August 14, kids age 7 – 12 and up can compete in a cross country race around the Lost Lake trail system starting at 9:45amSpawn Cycles Kidsworx Dirt Pump Track Challenge: At 9am – 2pm on August 15, kids aged 2 – 15 can come out and compete in a head-to-head session at the Pump Track and compete for the title of Spawn Cycles Kidsworx Pump Track Champion. |
