Après and Nightlife
Whistler maintains its reputation and energy off the slopes. More like a town than a small ski village, Whistler boasts so many bars, nightspots and restaurants that usually the toughest decision is deciding where to go for après.
Whistler Après
If you are in the village, kick off at the Longhorn, GLC (Garibaldi Lift Co.) or Dubh Linn Gate. Presumably, you have skied hard all day, so these are the closest bars to the base of the mountain. The atmosphere is always humming and they frequently have live music for when you come off the hill. If you are in the upper village be sure to check out Merlins and Milestones. Looking for something a little more polished? Try the Mallard Lounge at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler or Fifty Two 80 at the Four Seasons Resort. If you are traveling with the family, many of the more popular places such as the GLC, Dusty’s, Merlins and the Dubh Linn Gate welcome children until 7 p.m. Whether it’s live music, good food, or just a beer and great atmosphere you are looking for, Whistler’s sure to have an après spot to keep any skier or snowboarder happy.
Nightlife in Whistler
The party usually heats up after dark. Whistler boasts some of the best nightlife in Canada. Great DJs from Australia, UK and USA regularly make appearances at the likes of Tommy Africa’s and Garfinkels. Moe Joe’s, GLC, Dusty’s and Merlins often have great live bands during the ski season. Be sure to ask our staff for their favourite nightspots. We have certainly frequented them all!
